Atom Probe Analysis of Thermally Aged Steels
My DPhil research is a continuation of the Benjamin Jenkins’s work on the effects of long-term thermal ageing on the microstructure and mechanical properties of reactor pressure vessel (RPV) steels. Similarly to the previous project, I am also interested in the clustering of manganese-nickel rich precipitates (MNPs) and their effect on the properties of those alloys. In particular, I am going to focus on the changes within grain boundaries. This project is funded by EPSRC and Rolls-Royce.
