Emily is a visiting researcher with the Oxford Atom Probe Group while she completes her PhD at the University of Glasgow. Her research focusses on the correlative characterisation of the ‘cloudy zone’ – a binary phase formed via spinodal decomposition in Fe-Ni meteorites. These structures display unique magnetic properties that can be applied to the manufacture of novel, nature-inspired, energy transition materials.
In the University of Glasgow’s School of Geographical and Earth Sciences, Emily’s research interests also include pushing the frontiers of atom probe tomography to analyse terrestrial sources of rare earth elements.
