Generation IV Molten Salt nuclear reactors require materials to withstand extreme environments. Materials must exhibit a combination of good high temperature performance, irradiation resistance and corrosion resistance. My project goal is to apply atom probe tomography and other complementary techniques to study detailed chemistry of precipitates, which will inform the design, development and optimisation of Ni-based alloys in nuclear application.
